IF - Return

This  is an illustration from a chapter book called 'Keep Out' by Helene Boudreau, Nimbus publishing. Every year little shore birds called Piping Plovers return to the beaches of Prince Edward Island  and Nova Scotia, to nest on the beaches. They're eggs are really vulnerable to predators so parks departments put wire cages around their nests to protect the eggs. The black lines are the wire. This was done in pencil.

  1. This is so lovely. I came across these birds on the coast of Oregon last summer. they were also quite well proected there. Nice work! This is my first post on IF and I am loving the variety of style and interpretation.
